My Story

I grew up in the small vibrant community of Americus in South Georgia. I first fell in love with color and design in the late 70s, while my mother was decorating our newly constructed home. I studied interior design at the University of Georgia, and landscape design at Emory University.

After working in the design field for several years, my career took a new path. I designed and developed a line of non-slip dinner trays called “Lappers”. I appeared on ‘The Today Show’ and was featured on QVC for five years, and the product became a staple in retail outlets and catalogs. Eventually, I moved on to other career endeavors, but never lost my passion for color, art and design.

How did I start Atlanta Planters? Soon after I made floral designs and outdoor planters for a few friends, my phone was ringing off the hook. I began to share my availability on social media, and business began to blossom - literally! Before long I was hiring help and purchasing property in Marietta to build a planter and flower shop which opened in July, 2022.

I now spends my days doing what I love most - designing containers and gardens in and around the Atlanta area. I live in Atlanta with my husband, two children, two dogs and three cats.
